Disappointing delays

Greenfleet is disappointed by today's announcement that the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme or emission trading scheme has been further delayed, as a result of political indecision and disagreement.

Greenfleet believes that a carbon price is fundamental to sending long term investment signals for reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions. Delays pander to the skeptics and those who profit in the short term from failing to take action.    

Climate change will not wait for politicians to agree.  The sooner we take action to reduce the emissions being released and recapture emissions that have already been released into the atmosphere, the better.

We continue to urge Greenfleet supporters to act now to Avoid, Reduce and Offset greenhouse gas emissions and encourage all other businesses and households to take the same action.  We cannot wait for politicians to agree.
