Greenfleet would like to thank Europcar Australia for raising enough funds in 8 weeks to plant 8,044 trees - successfully meeting their Green Campaign target.
Europcar Australia and their customers have been supporting Greenfleet since 2006, but the eight week Green Campaign aimed to boost donations and raise awareness of the ongoing program. As part of the program, customers can choose to donate $3 to Greenfleet at the booking stage of their rental either online or through the Reservations centre.
The 8,000 tree target was reached with customer donations as well as partner donations from Skoda, White Pages, emitch, Victoria Electricity, Kia Motors, Direct Connect, Hyundai, Subaru, PMA Solutions and 3AW.
Greenfleet CEO, Ms Sara Gipton commented "Thanks to the generous contributions from Europcar, its customers and partners, these 8,044 trees will grow to absorb 2,156 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to taking 539 vehicles off the road for an entire year."
Europcar Australia Managing Director, Mr Ron Santiago said "The Green Campaign has re-established Europcar's commitment to implementing environmentally conscious processes and procedures within Australian operations. Our customers have yet another reason to choose Europcar and take the road to a more sustainable future."
