2 March 2009
Greenfleet is pleased to be a sponsor of, and cycling in, the Futrure Spark Team Challenge - a competition to generate electricity to power Melbourne's Earth Hour concert at Federation Square in March 2009.
Teams of 4 to 10 people will cycle against each other with the aim of generating the most power for the concert. There will be a trailer with bikes and solar panels to generate the power required. It's a great way to get behind the Earth Hour concept and contribute to the community celebrations. Form a workplace, school or community team and get involved in this fun environmental event!
Time is running out to join in the Future Spark Team Challenge, so get in soon to make sure your team doesn't miss out. For more information, including team registration packs, sponsorship opportunities and event details, go to www.futurespark.com.au.
Greenfleet will also be participating in Earth Hour, by turning off our office lights and equipment over the entire weekend - hey, we don't need them on the weekend anyway. Our staff will also take up the challenge at home and some of us will be at local Earth Hour events to celebrate this easy but effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
We encourage all our supporters to join in too - remember to turn off your lights for one hour on Saturday 28 March at 8.30pm.
