Gone are the days of internet chat being restricted to teenage gossip. Many businesses are now using the internet to meet with clients or colleagues and no-one needs to leave their desk. Secure internet gateways let businesses deliver presentations, share documents and allow collaboration between locations for multi-site businesses – reducing the need for a significant portion of corporate travel. Cutting down on physical travel for corporate meetings can deliver many benefits to your company, including cost savings, time savings, OH&S benefits and greenhouse gas reductions. Better still it means that staff spend less time away from their families, maintaining a healthier work–life balance. Greenfleet supporter, Genesys Conferencing offers a suite of online tools that fit perfectly with the Greenfleet philosophy by reducing our reliance on travel for meetings and other collaboration. We’ve been using the Genesys Meeting Centre for about nine months and love being able to open a document on one of our office computers and share it with team or board members elsewhere, while we talk over the phone. You can even let someone else edit the document in real-time and then save it back on your office computer. Genesys Conferencing’s Australian staff offset their own travel emissions with Greenfleet (yes, even they still have to travel the conventional way sometimes) and now they have developed a special Greenfleet Meeting Centre where they plant a tree for every 3 hours of meeting time spent on the system. Visit http://greenfleet.conferencing.com to sign up for a free two week trial and find out how you can save time, money and the environment by reducing your corporate travel. ____________________________________________
Plant 80,000m2 of trees – equivalent to all Servcorp office space in 2008 Servcorp realises that global warming is one of the most serious challenges facing our planet today. That is why we have chosen to partner with Greenfleet to assist with offsetting carbon emissions by creating biodiverse native forests in areas of environmental concern. For every Virtual Office purchased online for an Australian / New Zealand location, Servcorp will purchase and plant a tree on our client’s behalf at no cost to them. The Virtual Office concept, pioneered by Servcorp nearly a decade ago is an environmentally friendly option for your office needs through the use of shared resources and less people commuting into city centres. Work from home or from any Servcorp Virtual Office around the world and have access to boardrooms, meeting rooms and administrative services instantly. Servcorp provides prime office space in the best locations accommodating up to 10 team members in business city centres worldwide. As a Servcorp client, you have access to professional, multilingual office support teams, as well as innovative IT and communications systems and global IT support. Servcorp leases almost 80,000 square metres of office space and our goal is to plant enough trees to cover this space – that’s a goal of 8,000 trees to be pledged on behalf of Virtual Office users in 2008. Ausfleet have helped to develop Greenfleet's new CO2 Cost Cutter - a free online calculator to model the fuel efficiency and carbon emissions of fleet vehicles for fleet managers. So now it's easy for fleet managers to model the benefits of switching to more efficient vehicles before making any investment in the new vehicles. The fleet calculator was developed with funding from the 2006 Drive for Charity. Europcar Australia has partnered with Greenfleet to offset the carbon emissions of every new vehicle that is added to its fleet. Europcar Asia Pacific CEO Josh Green (pictured left) hopes the move to become a greener car company will help promote environmental awareness in the car rental industry and amongst consumers: “As one of Australia’s major car rental operators, we have more than 6,000 vehicles on our fleet and we anticipate the creation of a very substantial forest as we replace our fleet. We are proud to be the first Australian car rental company to commit to such an agreement and are seeking the support of customers and the motoring public in our efforts”. The campaign was kicked off when Europcar took delivery of its 836 new Subarus from their National Fleet and Corporate Sales Manager, Andrew Sinclair(pictured right). Learn More Greenfleet Sponsor
